EUROPEAN CITIZENS AND THE UK - How to work/hire staff in the post-Brexit era

The Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK is glad to organise this online event in Italian on Friday 2 July at 10:00 BST in collaboration with its member Barar & Associates, a law firm providing specialist UK personal and corporate immigration advice.

Last January 2021, the free movement of people between the UK and the EU ended and the British Government has activated a new points-based immigration system with which foreign nationals interested in doing business or working in the country must comply.

The Italian Chamber of Commerce’s Brexit Hub has received many questions from:

- British companies confused about the procedures to follow to hire EU-citizen staff (e.g. How to become a sponsor recognised by the Home Office? Can the Seasonal Worker Visa be used to hire staff in the hospitality sector? Is it still possible to hire interns from Italy? What changes for EU staff with a Settled Status?); and

- Italian citizens not resident in the UK before January 2021 who are interested in working in the UK (e.g. Is it still possible and what are the conditions to have a study/work experience in the UK? Is it possible to move to the UK without already having a contract? Are visas needed to attend business meetings or trade fairs?).

We will try to answer these and many other questions with a presentation carried out in Italian by Maddalena Berretti, Barar & Associates.

Please register through the link below if interested in attending the webinar.

Places are limited and they will be given on a first-come first-served basis (with priority given to our members).
