ItalyX is a certification scheme developed by the Gruppo IlSole24Ore, publisher of Italy's leading economic and financial daily newspaper, and Confindustria, the general confederation of Italian industry.

Its goal is to recognize, add value to, and increase the visibility of companies that embody and represent the values of "Italianness" (the pursuit of quality, style, attention to detail, and creativity) and to promote the development and competitiveness of Italian production chains.

ItalyX is aimed at Italian manufacturing companies that want to obtain a distinctive positioning in domestic and foreign markets.

Who is it for? The Italy X certification is intended for two categories of companies in the manufacturing sector: SMEs with an annual turnover of up to 50 million euros. Large companies with an annual turnover exceeding 50 million euros.

What are the benefits? In addition to improving corporate reputation, the Italy X certification offers new business opportunities thanks to a specific communication project on the channels of Il Sole 24 ORE Group and CONFINDUSTRIA. Certified companies will have access to national and international visibility tools, thus helping to increase their presence in the global market.

How does it work?

1. Verification: An independent certification body initiates an assessment based on parameters defined in the "Il Sole 24 Ore" Regulations.

2. Certification: After passing the assessment, the certificate is issued, and the company can use the Italy X brand.

3. Activation: The certified company gains access to visibility tools provided by Il Sole 24 Ore and Confindustria.

Come funziona?

“Stay Export” is a project created by the collaboration of Unioncamere (the Italian Chambers of Commerce in Italy) and Assocamerestero (the Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad), and financed by Unioncamere’s Fondo Intercamerale.

The project aims at supporting Italian companies in their internationalisation process thanks to a series of webinars organised by the Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad focused on different topics.

In 2022, the ICCIUK organised mentoring meetings with 15 Italian companies, aimed at providing them with useful information about the British market.

The ICCIUK organised three webinars:

The ICCIUK has also kept the Chambers of Commerce in Italy posted with information about the UK market, import/export activities and opportunities for the Italian companies.

Six companies, among those who participated to the webinars, were selected and offered mentoring activities in order to get all the information necessary to export in the UK.

ExportHub Firenze is a training, consultancy and information project on foreign markets: three pillars designed for this new phase of international trade. Organised by PromoFirenze, the agency has been a point of contact since 1991, both for Italian companies from the Florence area looking for information services, and for those who have already undertaken commercial relationships with other countries and intend to grow further.

In this context, the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK collaborates with PromoFirenze in a series of activities in support of companies interested in the British market, with the drafting of reports on the market and some focus sectors, the organisation of webinars for businesses, 1to1 meetings to explore the specific needs of companies and the creation of B2B agendas for those interested in making contacts with British companies.

Please find below the webinar organised as part of the project:

The Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK is glad to collaborate with the Torino Chamber of Commerce on the projects Savor Piemonte Europe 2020 and Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2020. For this occasion, a series of meetings have been organised to learn more about opportunities in the main European markets for Italian companies in the agri-food sector and the beverage industry from the Turin area.

These one-hour meetings will take place in webinar mode and will focus on the markets of the following countries:

The webinars represent a valuable opportunity to deeply investigate each market as well as their growth prospects and the evolution of consumer behaviour, especially in relation to the current health emergency.  We will also look for UK buyers in order to meet Italian producers participating in Terra Madre Salone del Gusto.

This program of meetings is aimed to explore new commercial opportunities and will be enhanced by a further webinar on the labelling of Italian agri-food products intended for export, together with a focus on the relevant regulations for every analised country. This insight will be a useful tool for every business who wants to make trade arrangements with potential importers and improve their business plan. The event will take place on December the 3rd.

A webinar on the international communication of agri-food products will close the series of meetings, offering insight into the best strategies of business promotion abroad in order to attract the attention of foreign consumers. This meeting will include operational advice coming from the experience of several specialised entrepreneurs in this field. The event will take place on December the 10th.

Starting from 2021, the second part of the project began. It included B2B meetings between buyers from the target countries, including the United Kingdom, and Piedmont (and in general Italian) producers. The United Kingdom is the country that has held the largest number of matches.

These initiatives are promoted by the Torino Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with our Chamber of Commerce, the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Denmark, the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the Czech Republic, the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for France in Marseille, the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Switzerland, Laboratorio Chimico della Camera di commercio di Torino and Università degli Studi di Scienze Gastronomiche.

“Chamber Mentoring for International Growth” is a project launched by Unioncamere aimed at creating a network of managers and Italian entrepreneurs (MENTOR) who live abroad and want to utilise their experience in supporting and guiding Italian enterprises (MENTEE) who are interested in becoming more competitive within foreign markets.

The project was established to create an international network of Italian mentors who live abroad and are able to contribute to the Italian SMEs growth through training and assistance made possible by the foreign Italian Chambers of Commerce and the Chambers of Commerce in Italy.

WHO IS THE MENTOR?

He/She is a manager or an entrepreneur who lives abroad, with strong Italian roots and high knowledge of the market. He/She is required to have a decade of professional experience, particularly in innovative industries.

The Mentor must make available his/her knowledge in exchange for an increase of his/her own professional relations given by the contact with new entrepreneurial ideas.

WHO IS THE MENTEE?

The Mentee is an entrepreneur or a manager of an Italian company interested in increasing his/her own entrepreneurial background. The Mentee should be willing to develop his own business with foreign markets and also increment possibilities to innovate their business.

The Mentee must be open to receive advice in order to achieve a good level of professional growth through training with high-skilled stakeholders (Mentors).

Phases of the Initiative:

1. Identification of Mentors by the foreign Italian Chambers of Commerce

At the same time in Italy:

2. Identification of the “Mentee Enterprises” by the local Chambers of Commerce. Priority will be given to highly innovative companies.

3. An Italian project Committee (composed of Unioncamere, Assocamerestero and other Italian stakeholders) will choose the Suitable Mentors.

4. Mentors/Mentee matching chosen by the Committee, taking into consideration mentors and mentees’ preferences. (The Mentors who don’t find an appropriate correspondent will be able to choose to be taken into consideration for future editions).

5. First contact between Mentor and Mentee, which could occur via skype, conference call, video conference (and so on), or through already scheduled economic-commercial missions in Italy or in the United Kingdom.

6. Mentor-Mentee relation: will run for 8 months. The Mentor will spend his/her time teaching the Mentee on a voluntary base in order to advise him/her and share his/her own experience about the country in which he/she lives and the sector where he/she operates. The Mentor will be a kind of advisor within the field of “access to the market” policies.

Main goals of the Project:

To create an international network of managers with high experience in their job sector, in order to help Italian SMEs in their international development.

To create a cluster of Italian companies with a high potential for internationalisation, in order to empower their own economic development.

To foster a dialogue among Mentors, Italian institutions, trade associations and other business support organisations, in order to improve not only the company’s performances but also to identify opportunities and critical issues in which to implement new services.

The Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK will keep and monitor the Mentor’s network. Furthermore the Chamber will supervise the Mentor/Mentee relationship receiving feedbacks from them and giving assistance for any critical issues.

At the end of the project, the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK in accordance with the Project Committee and the other Italian Chambers abroad (which have implemented the same project in other countries) will organise the “Italians in the world network to support the Italian Small and Medium Enterprises” day, in which the project methodology, the outcomes and follow-up actions will be presented. After which an evaluation will be made on the effect of the network on the national economic system.
